Here I am...

So, it's been awhile, I kept telling myself that I would get a new post on here when I got new pictures or when Tripp did something new, or tomorrow when I have more time. Well here I am, no pictures today-will save those for a happier post. This is going to be all about me today. First, a little history...I went to my doctor (OB/Gyn) for my annual appointment and they are pretty thorough-they check your glands, they check your reflexes, etc. Well, he asked me to lean my head back and to swallow as he felt my neck. I did as told and then he asked me to do it again-so I did-7 more times. He checked my chart and then gave me some pretty disturbing news. He told me that he felt an enlargement on my thyroid and that he wanted to get it looked at. He referred me to Clarendon Memorial for an ultra-sound of my neck. I went and had the ultra-sound done and waited a few days on the results. My doctor called me and told me that there was indeed an enlargement, and it was a solid mass. We set up an appointment with a specialist and I had a fine needle aspiration completed yesterday (9/25/2008) morning. By the way, this is what they call a needle biopsy. I will get the results on Monday afternoon and will be able to update everyone on Tuesday morning.

Why Can't I Keep Up?

So, Tripp is now 9.5months old and so much is going on!
Real quick update on his stats: 20lbs, 29.5"

Tripp is keeping me on my toes these days! He is so busy. I will post more on that later w/ pictures!

Update on mommy & daddy: Daddy Michael is doing really good. Still fishing some and he is starting to get into hunting a little bit. Not like his normal self, but going every now & then. Mommy Lisa has a little issue going on w/ her thyroid. The doctor has found a solid mass 1.8cmx1.4cm. I am going to see a specialist on Wednesday, Sept 17, 2008 to find out where I go from here. Getting a little bit nervous about this one. I have also already started on planning Tripp's first birthday and I am so excited about it! I can't wait until everyone is involved in this with me.

As for now, that is all that is new. Will get back to you soon with new pictures!

Now, now...we don't bite....

So, here it is, we have been waiting for the day that Tripp started to defend himself and here it is...sort of! Well, Michael went to pick up Tripp from the babysitter on Monday afternoon and he got a bad report...Tripp bit Riley! Yep, and guess what else? He left 4 teeth marks and a blood trail. OMG! Who would have thought that at 8 months old, they could draw blood? Well, Tripp did it and Riley was very upset. Of course in her mind, what she was doing to him was OK, she was holding onto his arm and not letting him go so he could get the toy/food that he wanted, so he turned around and chomped down. So Riley, Tripp is very sorry for biting you, but honey, you have got it coming to you now! Riley has done nothing but agitate Tripp from the beginning b/c he wasn't mobile to get her back, but look out. Riley should have learned her lesson the first time when Tripp tackled her and pulled her hair. Guess she still thought he couldn't "get" her. I don't know what we are going to do with those two!
(Sorry no picture, but there was a perfect bite mark of 4 little teeth!)

Totally Forgot the Zoo!

On June 28th, me and Tripp met up with some friends from BabyCenter Online and all of us went to Riverbanks Zoo. All of us mommies had a great day with the babes and the babes LOVED the fishes and the big fish tanks! It was a HOT day so the babes passed out early on us, but it was so much fun!

Milestone Update!!!!!!!

Ok, so lots has happened since June! Tripp is crawling at Olympic speed, at least it seems that way by the time it takes you to catch him! He is so funny about it because he moves with such determination and forceful motions. He climbs up on everything and cruises all the time. He loves his Elmo walker and has figured out that once you get to the back tires of mommy's car, the walker starts to go very, very fast...due to the wonderful slope of our driveway! He loves it though so we let him roll and stop him before he reaches the end so he can truck it back up the driveway to do it again! To cute! Tripp now has 2 top teeth that have cut thru and he thinks he can eat anything. He is now eating pretty much anything from our plates and he loves potatoes and carrots. Yummo! He is also eating lots of diced fruits and veggies. Still lovin' his pears though.

Mom and Dad are doing great. Getting more sleep thanks to the teeth finally coming thru and enjoying every brand new day. I can honestly say that some days are and adventure and others are just plain tiring, but all so worth it.

Take a look at our daredevil! Thanks to the people who didn't overbid us on that stupid bench!

Tripp's Beach Vacation

On July 16-19 we took our vacation and went to Ocean Isle Beach, NC. This was Tripp's first visit to the beach and he LOVED it! Tripp loved the sand and the waves and everything that the beach is about. He flirted with the women that walked by and played and crawled all over the place. I think that his best time was getting to eat the sand. Yep, I let him do it...why not, you can't stop that little hand every single time it goes up to his mouth, but we would spit most of it back out. We got really good pictures of Tripp b/c he hammed it up for us the whole time! He even helped mommy pack to go back home!

Where Has The Time Gone?

Well, it has been almost 2 whole months since I have updated everyone on how our family is doing. I will try to do this in little segments so that it isn't all jumbled up together.

4th of July:

4th of July was spent with our neighbors and some friends. We cooked out hotdogs and just played in the pool all day. Had a great time and Tripp LOVES the pool! After that we went to Dillon Park for the fireworks show. The older kids played on the bounce houses until the show started and me, Michael & Tripp ate some homemade ice cream. When the show started, Tripp really wasn't too sure of what was going on and then we showed him the sky, and he was mezmerized! After the show was over, we went home and we all passed out! It was a long day for ALL of us; and Tripp was such a trooper. Thanks babe!

Tripp is 6 Months Old!

Tripp went to the doctor on yesterday, 6/2/08, for his 6 month check-up and shots. He was 17.12 lbs and 27" long. He sure is a growing boy! He had to get 3 shots and some of them were 3-in-1, so he was hurting pretty bad. He took lots of naps and slept all night (aside from the occasional talking in his sleep to find his paci) and he was very happy this morning. He truly is the joy of my life (right next to Michael of course!)

Guess What Tripp Can Do?

So, Tripp has finally decided that he is his own person and he can do whatever he wants to do. That being said, his 2 teeth finally broke through and more have started coming, he is sitting on his own and he is crawling! Oh my gosh, the fun has begun! He is so much fun. He does get really frustrated when he has to crawl long distances, the baby gate is up, or you tell him "no". He is slowly beginning to learn what "no" means...when you tell him no, he makes one more move until you say "no" again and then he stops what he is doing, presses his forehead to the floor and starts crying and screaming. It really is funny. He truly has his mother's temper!

Tripp's Surgery

Tripp had his surgery on 5/23/2008 at 8am. He had to be re-circumsized...poor thing! He did really well. That afternoon after we got home, we had a little scare because there was more blood than we were told to expect, but we got it under control and he was a champ. Last Thursday, 5/29/08, Tripp busted some of his stitches so we called the doctor, who said to bring him in. They checked him on Friday, 5/30/08, and said that they would not re-suture, but that it will have to heal from the inside out-in other words-another week of him not being able to get in his walker, jumper, etc. But anyway, Tripp has been a champ and everything is healing just fine. Here are some pics

Milestone Update!

Well, we had a great weekend. Me and Tripp went to Kinley's birthday party at Swan Lake on Saturday and we went to Swan Lake on Sunday with daddy too! We fed the swans, geese, ducks, turtles, and squirrels. Tripp enjoyed watching all the animals and daddy liked watching the bedding fish.

So anyway, Tripp can finally roll all the way over both ways! He started doing this last week and he loves it! He has also learned to put his feet in his mouth and he tries to take his socks off. He is trying to sit up on his own and he pulls up on your fingers really well, but he has a hard time staying up. He wants to sit up on his own but when you set him against the couch or the chair, he sits there for a minute and then he bounces himself down. I think he thinks that it is little game of ours; but I'll take it!

He is really starting to eat a lot better now too. I really think I am just a messy feeder vs him being a messy eater! We are still working on the applesauce right now b/c the sweet potatos just didn't agree with Tripp's tummy. He does get bananas every now and then and we tried peaches too. I think we will try pears next. This has been a fun learning and messy experience for all of us!

4 Month Check-Up

Well, Tripp had his 4month check up today. He weighed 15.9lbs and was 26.5" long. Our baby is getting so big! He got 4 shots today and he was NOT very happy about that at all, but we gave him Tylenol before he went to the doc so maybe he won't feel that bad today. Mom is watching him until I get off from work. I so did not want to come back to work after that though. I wanted to go home with him and cuddle him the rest of the day.

Tripp also has his 2 front bottom teeth coming in. That's right...2 at the same time! No wonder he has been so cranky. Last night was really bad, but his bath helped to calm him down enough that I could rock him to sleep. I feel so bad for my little man.

On a happy note, when mom went to pick him up for his appt, Betty had him in the walker and mom said that he was going to town! He loved it so me and Michael may have to invest in one of those things too. it is amazing how much stuff you have to buy before you find something that actually interests him. We have the stationary exer-saucer and the jumperoo, but he doesn't really care for them too much. I guess we need one of those Johnny Jumpers or the walker. We will see....

Catching Up...

Well, I have totally slacked off on updating this thing every day, so I might just have to do it once a week. Dunno...

Anyway, Tripp is getting so big. He has found that his feet can move to his mouth, I am just waiting on him to stick his feet in his mouth. He is trying to sit up on his own now. He lasts...oh about 2seconds...then he just topples over or falls forward. If you haven't seen the pics already, I took him to Swan Lake and he did great. He really wasn't very interested int he ducks until they started splashing around in the water. He did have one swan hiss at him though, so we moved away quick! Tripp also does not like his bouncy chair..well he doesn't like to sit still in it. He keeps bouncing himself out of it. We always watch him so he doesn't get hurt, but it is so funny to watch him be half in and half out of the seat. And me the great mom, instead of helping him the first time he did it, I took pictures instead!

Tripp has started to eat some babyfood now. He does not like applesauce or peaches. He is ok w/ bananas. HE LOVES ICE CREAM!!! That was a fun thing I did for him at a family dinner and he just loves it (but only the melted part-the rest was too cold for him). He will also suck on a sucker...thanks GeeGee!

We went to visit Austin, Paula & AnnaLynn this weekend and Tripp tried to hold AnnaLynn's hand. It was so friggin cute! Those two are gonna give us the run for our money!

Well, that is realy about it for now. Nothing else too new going on. Just taking it a day at a time. Tripp still has his bad nights and good nights, but they are getting fewer and fewer each week.

New Name for Tripp (per Michael): Momma's Boy or MB
but that is a while other story to tell....

Feeling Better!

Well, Micheal is feeling much better now. He even cooked dinner and I actually got to sleep in the bed last night! Too bad that Tripp kept waking up all night long.

It was too funny...this morning Michael woke me up to go get Tripp ready to go to the babysitter and when I walked in the nursery, Tripp was laying on his back just staring at the ceiling and smiling. Not making a sound at all! I did not even know that he was awake.

Last night I realized just how much Tripp likes water, especially if it is running. After he splashed and kicked and splashed some more in the bath-tub, I put Tripp in the baby bjorn carrier so that I could do dishes...and he loved it! He kept putting his hands in the water and kicking his feet. It was too cute.

Tuesday Morning

So, this morning while taking Tripp to the babysitter's, he was in a really good mood and he "talked" the entire way from our house to Wedgefield. I would sing to him and he would "sing" back to me. He talked to me and the elephant on his car seat and just kept laughing. It was so hard to leave him this morning. I feel like I am missing so much on days like this.

Easter Weekend

Well, we had a great Easter weekend. Tripp had fun playing w/ his new toys and playing w/ the grass from his Easter basket. He was so cute in his new outfit. He looked just like a little man. He is growing so fast. Matter of fact, when I place his car seat in the car, his feet touch the back seat...which he loves b/c he is able to kick the seat.

Saturday me and Tripp had a day of errands. We had to look for him a sweater for Sunday b/c it was going to be cold. Finally found one on the sale rack at KMart. Then when we got home, my sister and Payton came to visit for a few minutes after Payton's t-ball practice. She really loves her little cousin so much. She always wants to hold him. Too bad she is only 5 or she would be the best baby-sitter ever! Then we went and visited with Angie and Matthew on our stroller ride in the neighborhood. Then we went to Jessica's shower. We didn't stay very long because Tripp had not had a nap all day because of all the running around and he was very cranky! After we got home, my dad came to visit. After they left Tripp finally settled down for the night and went out like a light. Poor thing was so tired.

We went to Church on Sunday and Tripp did not last very long, about 15 minutes, and then he said that was enough. I took him outside and fed him and walked him around for a bit hen we went to the back of the Church where the otehr kids were. He did fine back there. He watched a little bit of Veggie Tales and then he got tired of that so we walked around a little more. Then I laid him on his back on the table and he laughed and cooed and squealed so loud that they could hear him in the front of the Church! It was too funny. Then we went to Michael's mom's house and ate dinner. He did good for the most part and even took a little nap, but I think there were just too many people passing him around and he got a little fussy. We left there and went to see my mom and he played for a while, but I think that he was extremely tired because when we got home he ate and then passed out.

Milestone update...when you lay Tripp on his back, he can lift his head (chin to chest) and he is almost getting both shoulders up while he does this! He is laughing so much now and smiles all the time. He has started to try to roll over from his back to his tummy. He gets half-way over and then he starts laughing so he rolls back the other way back onto his back. It is so cute.

Michael is starting to feel a little better. He ventured out on Easter for dinner but he stayed out too long so he went on home to lay down. By the time me and Tripp got home, Michael was feeling a little better because he got a little power nap. He is finally starting to feel better today, he just is really weak. He went ahead and cleaned the bedroom and changed the sheets so I can finally start sleeping in the bed again. YAY!!! I am so over sleeping on the couch!

Well, that is how our weekend was. Very eventful and fun. I should have pictures soon.

Nothing New

So nothing really exciting going on today. Tripp had a good night and a great morning!

Betty, Tripp's babysitter, gave him an Easter gift this morning. It was a super cute bunny and he really liked it. The first thing he did when I showed it to him was put it in his mouth! Of course.

We have got Tripp the cutest Easter outfit. Michael's mom bought it and it is so darling. I can't wait to take pictures of him on Sunday.

Michael said that he is starting to feel "somewhat" better but not really...whatever that really means! I am just glad that he might be getting over the worst of it...I am tired of sleeping on the couch! Michael is not allowed out of the bedroom until he is no longer contagious. No fishing for him tomorrow! But that also means that me and Tripp are going solo to Jessica's baby-shower.

By the way, I put a March for Babies link on here. Please help me if you can, I need to raise money for the walk. Me and Tripp are going to do the Sumter walk on April 19. I can't wait to get out there and do something. I may see if Paula and Anna Lynn wanna join us.

Hope everyone has a Great Easter! Will post new pics soon

Michael is sick...

So yesterday Michael called and said he felt bad and by last night his fever was @ 100.1 after taking tylenol. So this morning I am making him go to the doctor-he woke up with his fever @ 101.9...it's probably the flu. Ugh...

I kept Tripp away from him last night and this morning and I "lysolled" EVERYTHING! I also slept on the couch last night to stay away. I just cannot get sick right now.

On another note, Tripp did not have a good night or a good morning at all. This teething thing needs to hurry up and get over with. I am so over it, ok?! I had to give him tylenol at 6:30 this morning, but that seemed to help almost instantly. I think he just likes the taste of it-grape.

Michael's on the way to the doctor...

2:37pm, well, it is the flu. They gave Michael some tamiflu and cough syrup and they also sent me an RX for tamiflu so that I don't catch it. They just said that we need to be on the look-out for any changes in Tripp's behavior and make sure he doesn't get a fever. O-boy...how long does the flu last?

HI!

I just wanted to find a way for everyone to be able to follow us in our day to day lives and to know how we are doing.

Tripp is now 3 1/2 months old now and he changes so much every day. He is rolling over from his tummy to his back, he is grabbing onto toys and holding onto them. He is also holding his head up on his own very well and he tries harder and harder every day to sit up on his own.

This week started a new week of noise from Tripp! He is making all kinds of laughing sounds and he is beginning to mimic simple sounds that me and michael make to him.

Tripp is also beginning to teeth already! He is constantly sucking on his hands and drooling everywhere! his shirts stay soaked. When he gets really uncomfortable, "chews" on his hands even harder and he chokes himself. We are having to give him Tylenol for his discomfort and that seems to help.

He still will not sleep thru the entire night. But usually if he eats by 9:30 or 10pm, and is alseep by 10:30, he will stay asleep until at least 5 or 5:30am; so I guess you can call that "all night"

Well, this was just an update and I will update periodically so everyone knows what is happening.
